‘In Medias Res’ explores a dynamic middle ground where bodies, images, and meanings exist in states of transformation. It brings together artists, writers, and photographers whose works approach the body as both subject and site: fragmented, doubled, obscured, and in flux. Referencing visual traditions ranging from classical figuration to ancient ornament and Eastern patterning, the work situates the body within cycles of adornment, constraint, and transformation, echoed in contemporary practices. Conceived as both book and exhibition, it offers a sequence of visual encounters where meaning emerges through proximity, rhythm, and shifting relations between forms.
